Together in Iași – a helping hand and hearts full of light

Between October 10 and 15, believers from all over the country gathered in Iași for the Pilgrimage of Saint Parascheva. Amidst the crowd, alongside prayers and emotion, one could also feel the warmth of those who choose to give from the heart.

The Saint Tecla Foundation, in collaboration with the Saint Nicholas Sitarul Monastery and the Hanul cu Tradiții Restaurant in Voluntari, organized a charity event aimed at bringing comfort and joy to the pilgrims. Alongside us, 44 volunteers distributed 500 food packages, 5,000 doughnuts, 1,000 sandwiches, 5,000 coffees, and 7,000 hot teas.

In addition, people received bottled water, chocolate, wafers, cookies, and 200 raincoats.

Beyond the gesture of giving, this event meant closeness, warm glances, and moments of gratitude. For many, a warm doughnut or a cup of tea was more than just a snack—it was a sign of care, proof that there are people around them who see, feel, and get involved.

For believers, the pilgrimage to Saint Parascheva is not just a tradition, but a journey of the heart. It is a moment of contemplation, prayer, and renewed hope. Every year, thousands of people come to Iași to draw closer to the gentle image of the saint, considered the protector of Moldova and the comforter of those in suffering. Before her, the pilgrims’ tears turn to silence, and faith is renewed.
