Agape and Catechesis – Fourth Sunday after Pentecost

On this day, we celebrate the Transfer of the Relics of the Holy Martyr-Physicians Chir and John, the Holy Martyr Papias, the Veneration of the Holy Icon of the Mother of God “of St. John Damascene” (Trihirussa), the 4th Sunday after Pentecost (The Healing of the Centurion’s Servant).

The 4th Sunday after Pentecost reminds us of the miracle of the healing of the centurion’s servant in Capernaum, highlighting the power of sincere faith and humility before God. Through the words and attitude of the centurion, who placed his complete trust in Christ, today’s Gospel shows us that true faith is founded on complete trust, obedience, and the recognition of God’s work in our lives. This Sunday urges us to strengthen our faith, to cultivate humility, and to seek God’s help in all circumstances, convinced that His grace works in a mysterious and saving way in the lives of those who seek Him with a pure heart.
