Utrenia – The Fifth Sunday after Pentecost

On this day, we commemorate Saint Athanasius the Athonite, Saint Sergius of Radonezh, the six holy disciples of Saint Athanasius of Mount Athos, Saint Cyprian the Martyr, and Saint Lampadius, as well as the Fifth Sunday after Pentecost (The Healing of the Two Demoniacs in the Region of Gadara).

The Fifth Sunday after Pentecost presents us with the Gospel account of the healing of the two demon-possessed men in the region of Gadara, revealing to us Christ’s boundless power over evil and His love for those who suffer. Through this miracle, the Savior shows us that no spiritual darkness is greater than the grace of God and that true liberation is attained by drawing near to Christ. At the same time, the Gospel urges us to choose communion with God above all fleeting concerns and to receive His saving work in our lives with faith. This Sunday calls us to strengthen our faith, to free ourselves from the bondage of sin, and to keep alive our hope in God’s power and mercy.

We warmly welcome you to the Chapel of the Saint Thecla Foundation, in a warm and welcoming setting!
