Agape and catechesis – The Transfiguration

The Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, celebrated by the Church on August 6, reveals to us one of the most significant moments in the earthly life of our Savior Jesus Christ. On Mount Tabor, in the presence of the Holy Apostles Peter, James, and John, Christ revealed His divine glory, and His face shone like the sun, while His garments became white as light. The prophets Moses and Elijah appeared alongside Him, and the voice of the heavenly Father declared: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; listen to Him.”

Through this divine manifestation, the Savior prepared His disciples for His Passion, death, and Resurrection, strengthening their faith and revealing to them that He is the Son of God and the Savior of the world. The Transfiguration also shows us that man is called to partake of divine light and grace, advancing ceaselessly along the path of holiness and communion with God.

This great feast urges us to renew our lives through prayer, repentance, and participation in the Holy Mysteries, so that our souls too may be enlightened by the grace of Christ. As we look upon the glory revealed on Mount Tabor, we are called to strengthen our faith, to listen to the word of God, and to follow the path of the Gospel, with the hope that, through His grace, we will become partakers of the eternal Kingdom.

We warmly welcome you to the Chapel of the Saint Thecla Foundation, in a warm and welcoming setting!
