Holy Unction – St. Sophronius of Antim – St. Sophia Parish, 216 Calea Floreasca

On this day, we commemorate: Saint Sophronius the Confessor of Antim, Saint Euphemia the Great Martyr, Saint Ludmila the Martyr, Saint Meletina the Martyr, and the Veneration of the Holy Icon of the Mother of God “Helper of the Humble.”

Saint Sophronius the Confessor of Antim is one of the great spiritual figures of 20th-century Romanian Orthodoxy, known for his gentleness, his life of prayer, and the love with which he guided entire generations of believers. A monk, priest, spiritual father, painter, and iconographer, Saint Sofian wonderfully united the beauty of ecclesiastical art with the depth of the spiritual life. At Antim Monastery, where he served for many years, he became a true father to souls and one of the shining figures of the “Rugul Aprins” spiritual movement.

We warmly welcome you to the Chapel of the Saint Thecla Foundation, in a warm and welcoming setting!
