Utrenia – St. Parascheva of Iași
On this day, we commemorate: Saint Parascheva of Iași, Saint Gervasius the Martyr, the Veneration of the Holy Icon of the Mother of God “of Saint Cosmas of Yakhrom,” Saint Nazarius the Martyr, Saint Chelsius the Martyr, Saint Ignatius, Metropolitan of Mytilene, Saint Pahomius of Chios, Saint Silvanus, Bishop of Gaza, and Saint Protasius the Martyr.
Saint Paraskevi of Iași is one of the most beloved saints of Romanian Orthodoxy, and every year on October 14, crowds of the faithful gather in Iași to venerate her holy relics. The life of Saint Paraskevi is a model of renouncing worldly things, of prayer, of fasting, and of love for God.
From her youth, Saint Paraskevi chose to dedicate her life to Christ, renouncing the riches and comforts of the world for a life of asceticism and prayer. Through her humility and love, she has become a model of Christian living for generations. For believers who come to Iași, encountering her holy relics is also a moment of prayer, thanksgiving, and spiritual strengthening, in which each person brings their own joys, trials, and hopes before God.
We warmly welcome you to the Chapel of the Saint Thecla Foundation, in a warm and welcoming setting!
