Holy Liturgy – Feast of the Transfiguration

On this day, the following are celebrated: the Odovania of the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, the Transfer of the Relics of Saint Maximus the Confessor, Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk, Saint Dositeus the Pious, Saint Dorotheus the Pious, the Veneration of the Holy Icon of the Mother of God of Minsk, the Veneration of the Holy Icon of the Mother of God “of the Passion,” and the Veneration of the Holy Icon of the Mother of God “with Seven Arrows.”

The Odovania of the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord concludes the period of celebration of this great event in the life of our Savior Jesus Christ, keeping alive in the hearts of the faithful the divine light revealed on Mount Tabor. The Church invites us to revisit and deepen our understanding of this feast, reminding us that Christ revealed His divine glory before the Holy Apostles Peter, James, and John, strengthening their faith and preparing them for His Passion and Resurrection.

On this day of celebration, we are called not to let the joy of the feast remain merely a memory, but to transform it into a continuous work of spiritual renewal. The Light of Tabor reminds us that every Christian is called to advance along the path of holiness—through prayer, repentance, and communion with God’s grace—so that their life may become a testimony to Christ’s presence in the world.

As this festive season draws to a close, we are urged to keep in our hearts the peace, faith, and hope we have received through this great royal feast, obediently following the voice of our heavenly Father: “This is My beloved Son… listen to Him.” Thus, the light of the Transfiguration becomes for each of us a guide toward full communion with God and toward attaining His eternal Kingdom.

We warmly welcome you to the Chapel of the Saint Thecla Foundation, in a warm and welcoming setting!
