Holy Liturgy – St. Elijah the Tishbite, the Prophet

On this day, we celebrate the Holy and Glorious Prophet Elijah the Tishbite and the Veneration of the Holy Icon of the Mother of God “Abalatsk.”

Saint Elijah the Tishbite, one of the greatest prophets of the Old Testament, is honored by the Church for his unwavering zeal in defending the faith and for his complete obedience to God’s will. Through his life filled with prayer, fasting, and courage, he powerfully bore witness to divine truth, calling the people to repentance and a return to the living God. The miracles he performed through the power of God and his ascension to heaven in a chariot of fire have made Saint Elijah a symbol of steadfast faith and hope in God’s work. His veneration urges us to cultivate a zeal for the truth, to remain steadfast in our faith, and to trust in God’s providence in all circumstances of life.

We warmly welcome you to the Chapel of the Saint Thecla Foundation, in a warm and welcoming setting!
