The Protection of the Mother of God is one of the feasts on which the Church reminds us, in a special way, of the protection and intercession of the Most Holy Mother of God for those who turn to her in faith. The feast has its origin in the vision of Saint Andrew the Fool for Christ, who, during a vigil held in the church at Vlaherne, saw the Mother of God standing in the midst of the faithful, praying and spreading her venerable omophorion over the people.

The image of the Protection of the Mother of God is one full of comfort: under this symbolic protection gather those who seek help, peace, and strength in life’s trials. For Christians, the Mother of God remains the embodiment of maternal love, humility, and unceasing prayer. This day invites us to approach her with confidence and ask for her intercession before her Son, trusting that prayer and faith can bring light even in the darkest moments.

We warmly welcome you to the Chapel of the Saint Thecla Foundation, in a warm and welcoming setting!
