Holy Unction – St. Sophia Parish – Calea Floreasca 216

The Sacrament of Holy Unction is the service through which the Church prays for the sick and suffering, asking God for spiritual and physical healing, forgiveness of sins, and strength in the faith. Through the anointing with holy oil and the prayers of the priests, the faithful receive the grace and mercy of God, the Healer of souls and bodies.

On this day, we celebrate the Holy Fathers of the Second Ecumenical Council, Saint Martyr Marcel, Saint Martyr Vasilisc, and Saint Martyr Sophia the Physician.
