Holy Unction—Saints Martyrs Prov, Tarah, and Andronicus; Saint Cosmas, Bishop of Maiuma—Dorobanți Parish, 166 Calea Dorobanți

On this day, the following are commemorated: Saint Tarah the Martyr, Saint Andronicus the Martyr, Saint Prov the Martyr, Saint Cosmas the Hierarch, Bishop of Maiuma, the Veneration of the Holy Icon of the Mother of God of Jerusalem, and the Veneration of the Holy Icon of the Mother of God of Kaluga.

The Holy Martyrs Prov, Tarah, and Andronic are commemorated as confessors of the faith who remained steadfast in the face of torture. Saint Tarah powerfully confessed the divinity of Christ and the hope that Christians have in God, and together with Prov and Andronic, he received the crown of martyrdom.

On the same day, Saint Cosmas, Bishop of Maiuma, is honored; he is also known for his work as a hymnographer and for his love for the Church. The commemoration of these saints presents us with two forms of witness: witness through the sacrifice of martyrdom and witness through the word, prayer, and service to the Church. Their lives urge us to hold fast to the faith and to make it fruitful through the way we live our daily lives.

We warmly welcome you to the Chapel of the Saint Thecla Foundation, in a warm and welcoming setting!
