The Holy Apostles and Deacons Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, and Parmenas, commemorated by the Church on July 28, are among the seven deacons chosen by the Holy Apostles to serve the early Christian community. Filled with faith, wisdom, and the grace of the Holy Spirit, they combined service to their neighbors with the preaching of the Gospel, contributing to the strengthening and growth of the Church in its early centuries. Through their lives of self-sacrifice and obedience, they showed that any ministry carried out with love and humility becomes a work pleasing to God.
Each of these saints steadfastly bore witness to their faith, spreading the good news of Christ throughout various lands and courageously facing the trials and persecutions of their time. Their devotion to the Church and their apostolic zeal remain to this day an example of selfless service and faithfulness to the Gospel.
The commemoration of the Holy Apostles and Deacons Prohor, Nicanor, Timon, and Parmena urges us to put the gifts we have received from God at the service of our fellow human beings, to cultivate a spirit of communion and responsibility in the life of the Church, and to bear witness to our faith through love, humility, and good deeds.
We warmly welcome you to the Chapel of the Saint Thecla Foundation, in a warm and welcoming setting!
