Support for Ionut’s future
The St. Thecla Foundation continues to support ambitious young people who are fighting for a better future, and one of them is Ionuț Merlă. With an iron will and exceptional academic results, Ionuț finished 11th grade with an average of 9.25 and obtained second prize.
One of the most important moments in his journey was the support he received through the “I help myself” campaign, through which, with the help of the St. Thecla Foundation, he received a prosthetic leg. It gave him the mobility he needed to follow his dreams, and Ionuț told us that he is very satisfied with this help.
Now the young man is one step closer to independence. Recently, he took the theoretical exam for his driving license and passed with flying colors. „I was nervous, not that much, but enough to realize it. I prepared myself very well for this moment and it was really worth it because I passed. I can say that it wasn’t hard, but of course I had to know for sure that I would get it”, Ionuț told us.
His next goal is to take the practical test in September, and then his dream is to buy a car adapted for disabled people. This would help him enormously to become independent and continue his studies. Ionuț has big plans for the future: in one year he wants to pass the Baccalaureat exam and be admitted to the Faculty of Accounting at ASE.
The Saint Thecla Foundation has been by his side on this journey, supporting him on the road to independence and personal fulfillment.
„I can’t wait to get my license! Thank you so much, St. Thecla Foundation, for your help, because I couldn’t have gotten here without your support!”, Ionuț said, full of gratitude.
