Epiphany – The Baptism of the Lord, a call to purification
The Feast of the Baptism of the Lord brought us together on January 6 and 7, when, with great reverence, the Holy Service of the Blessing of the Great Holy Water was performed, followed by the celebration of the Synaxis of St. John the Baptist. The faithful approached this gift of grace with open hearts, experiencing moments of prayer, gratitude, and spiritual strengthening.
Epiphany reveals to us the manifestation of the Holy Trinity and calls each of us to renew our lives, renounce sin, and purify our hearts. Just as Christ entered the waters of the Jordan, He calls us too to enter the waters of repentance, to be spiritually reborn, leaving behind the burdens of the past and putting on the garment of light.
This great celebration was a reminder for all of us that every true new beginning is an encounter with God and a sincere desire to change our lives. Through the Great Holy Water, through prayer and humility, our hearts were surrounded by peace, and our souls were strengthened by faith and hope.
